May. 18. 2012.
This day will be forever planted in my head. Although Jake claims that I said "hey" to him at least once before this day, I remember this date as the first time I ever talked to Jake. We became best friends instantly and every time that I saw him the rest of the day I called him my "best buddy". It was right before summer and I ran after Jake to give him my phone number before he left. I am not exaggerating when I say that we have not gone a day without texting. I have texted Jake at least once for about 1,460 days. So this day is very important to me because it is the day I met my favorite person on the planet.
December. 31. 2012.
When I remember this day I literally laugh out loud. This was the first time that I went to Jake's house. My family and I went to the Valente's house for New Years Eve and that was the first time I remember really being goofy with Jake. The picture that I am gonna show you guys is the first picture that Jake and I ever took :)
July. 4. 2014.
This was the summer after 8th grade and my family decided to bring Jake along with us to the lake for the 4th of July. My dad's family always has a huge get together on the fourth so I was very happy when my parents agreed to bring Jake with us. The weekend was filled with boat rides, skiing, wake boarding, and lots of food. This is when one of my favorite memories was made.
I feel like all of my favorite memories are made at the lake. In order to see the best fireworks on the lake we have to take the boat out. This one particular memory was made the night we went to see the fireworks. On the way back to the house from the fireworks I fell asleep on Jake's shoulder. I know I know... soooo cheesy. But it is seriously so special to me. I can't exactly tell you why it is so important, but it is.
Not only did I get to bring Jake to the lake but he also had to stay a couple of days at our house. Jake and I would spend all day rip-sticking, it is like a weird skate board kinda thing. I believe with my whole heart that it was through moments like this that Jake and I became best friends. I look back on the time we spent together and am so grateful that I was able to grow up with Jake and that our parents gave us the opportunity to do so. I know that I love Jake not only as my boyfriend but as my best friend.
Okay so now done with the specific dates. I am just going to start spilling stories that I remember.
Okay so this first story is soooo embarrassing. Last year I went with Jake's family to New York to run a 15k race, the Boiler Maker. His whole family goes up to Jake's grandparents house. It is like a family reunion. One day we were all out to eat and while I was in the restroom Jake's uncle thought it would be a fun idea to play a joke on me. So when I walked out of the bathroom all of the seating arrangements were changed. I was on the opposite end of the table from Jake. Jake's dad told me that my parents had asked him to make sure Jake and I had space so that is why they had to move me away from him. Jake's WHOLE family was there. So they heard everything. I was absolutely humiliated. I could not drop it. I was so upset that I was not allowed to sit next to Jake. The whole situation was very uncomfortable. For the rest of the day I ignored Jake. And when Jake and I are in a fight there is so much tension that you can cut it with a knife. So for the rest of the day everyone was uncomfortable because of me and Jake. Now can you even imagine that??
Here is a picture from the race this year. The story I told was from two years ago when I ran the boiler maker!
For those of you who don't know my parents, they are really protective. When Jake got his restricted I obviously really wanted him to drive me. We would finally be able to go on real dates and I would not have to harass my parents about driving me to and from hanging out with Jake. My parents made me wait two months until Jake could drive me and Jake had to drive my dad before I could get in the car. Although I was really upset with them at the time, I am so grateful to have parents that care so much about me. Plus it made my first car ride with Jake so special because it showed that my parents trust me and Jake.
My favorite pictures are the ones that Jake and I got taken professionally. When I went with Jake's family to San Francisco they were having family portraits done so Jake and I got some pics of us as well (and Sara, Jake's sister). These pictures are something that I will treasure forever. They are so beautiful and it reminds me of how amazing that trip was. From the start of the trip Jake and I were laughing nonstop. For starters on the 5 hr plane ride to SF from Atl Jake and I were stuck next to a woman that was eating GARLIC shrimp. It was the most disgusting thing ever. I was trying to sleep the whole plane ride but I couldn't because the only air available for me to breathe was saturated with garlic.
So these stories are sorta out of order but I don't care.
Jake and I were able to celebrate our two year anniversary in New York when we were in 9th grade! And it was during fashion week!!!
As you can tell from these pictures, Jake was sick. I was really sad that he was not able to have a super fun time but I still had lots of fun! I have to tell you guys that I am so lucky to have the relationship that Jake and I have because I have gained another family. Jake's mom is literally my second mom. We are so close and I know that I can tell her anything (and I do). Jake's sister, Sara and I have known each other since she was in 4th grade. She is practically the sister that I never had. We are so close which means that sometimes we fight but we always laugh and have fun when we aren't bickering. Even Jake's brother and I were best friends at one point, but now he is off in college so our friendship has sorta died down but I still love him. I am even close to Jake's dad and grandparents. This trip definitely brought me and Jake closer together and I am so thankful for it.
So there you have it. Those are some fun stories about me and Jake. I hope you guys enjoyed them!
The pictures below are some pics of me and Jake throughout the years.
